« Carl Richard Söderströms unique pieces in ceramics seem to be inspired by shapes in nature with influences from various époques in art history such as the Gothic as well as the baroque period .
His work evolves around structures and surfaces with shapes in layers on top of each other. For the last four years Carl Richard has been working in a clay that turns black when fired at high temperature. Exploring the different shades of black and different ways of capturing light depending on shape and structure.
Even though his technique its very time consuming there is an direct and spontaneous expression to his work and it seems that one object inspires the next in a continuous flow.»
