«In my work I am concerned with human perception and the basic need to search for recognisability in one's surroundings. Recognition is well known as a reassuring phenomenon and in my inquisitive search for things, places and phenomenons which create wonder, with my objects I explore ways to challenge the perceived.

I am interested in investigating how contrast based relationships can create tension where the viewer struggles to categorize the object uniquely, hence creating an opening to build fictitious and abstract interpretations of the piece.

In my work lies a recognition of how visual material encourages understanding; that there is another, often greater, understanding of the concrete/ the physical than the imagined/ the thought. My works are often therefore the abstract result and expression of the processing and development of understanding of my observations and ideas.»
