I’ve been working for several years with interaction between light and shadow, how light affects the form and what happens with the space around it.
In my latest works I have created shapes which give me interesting shadows, the shadows became new forms which are immaterial but still very important and present for how the observer experience the whole space. By using different strength of light and giving it different angels and directions I have been able to create a shadowplay between the space and my work.
Part of my background is linked to Venice – this town which reflect itself in the water of the canals has had a great influence on my work. The meeting between light and dark, and the shiny and matt surfaces which are so significant and particular in Venice have created a major direction in my work.
